With running an online business becoming an increasingly popular form of work, there’s one factor that most of us aren’t talking about: the loneliness that can come with it.
Sure, it sounds badass! Posting luxurious-looking Instagram posts poolside with a drink in hand, while simultaneously getting to make your own hours and not have a boss to answer to?! Who wouldn’t want that? #winning
Ignoring that fact that this mental image could not be farther than the reality most of the time (HA! Seriously though…), there is all kinds of research to support the fact that entrepreneurship comes with a unique set of stressors, most of which are made worse when you factor in what a lonely journey it can become, especially when you’re working alone from home most of the time.
And as much as this introvert LOVES alone time, I quickly realized after quitting my full time corporate job that I very much still needed face time with other humans on a regular basis.
